Hello from YOUR PAC! We wanted to give you an update on what we've been working on around the roof issue this week! We also want to applaud the school and the School District for being so transparent about this issue! Specifically, we'd like to thank Sandra Arthur, our PAC president who's done a ton of interviews with the media and our MLA, Gary Holman, who is personally advocating on behalf of Bayside in the legislature. Ultimately, we all want what is best for the children and staff of Bayside!
Today, you should have received an email from the school with information from Kim Milburn, Acting Facilities Director, outlining the testing, discovery and repairs being done Thursday and Friday this week to green mould found in the walls of the Library and the Art room. We will get an update early next week and those two rooms will be open on Monday. Here is the latest media report on this which aired tonight on CTV.
On Tuesday, six members of the PAC went to Question Period at the BC Legislature where Gary Holman presented our petition, which had almost 500 signatures and growing, and asked the question about replacement of the roof to the Minister of Education, Mike Bernier. Gary Holman and the Minister, along with Sandra were then interviewed by television and newspaper about our hope for a resolution. Hope is definitely there from all parties!
