The role of the Parent Advisory Council is to act in an advisory capacity. It is the officially recognized voice of parents of children registered at the school.
All parents/guardians of children attending Bayside are already voting members of the PAC. The primary duty of the PAC Executive is to act as a liaison between the principal, staff, and parents. You are encouraged to attend the monthly PAC meetings. If you are unable to attend a meeting, you can always contact one of your PAC Executive members.
Helping Out In The School
Contact baysidepac@gmail.com if you are interested in helping out!
Here are just a few ideas:
Art Displays:
The walls of the school are filled with student artwork which needs to be changed on a regular basis. If you aren't afraid of climbing a step ladder and can offer a few hours a month, it would be most appreciated.
Athletics:
Coaching Support
Clubs
Do you have a skill or hobby you could share with Bayside students? Run a club at lunch or afterschool.
CPF:
Assisting with various Canadian Parents for French events.
Earthquake Committee
Help is needed to continue the work of having all necessary supplies in the event of a major emergency.
Fundraising
We wish to add fundraising efforts to support a variety of student activities.
Grade 8 Farewell:
A group of grade 8 parents will be needed to volunteer to help organize this event for the Grade 8s.
Library Helper:
The Library staff could use some helping hands to keep all the resources organized in the library.
Staff Appreciation:
Each year a week is selected as Staff Appreciation Week. During this time the student's are encouraged to voice their appreciation through various activities. In addition, the parent's show their appreciation.
Miscellaneous Jobs:
We are always in need of volunteers to help with miscellaneous jobs throughout the year. The jobs would be one time only and of a short duration.
