The Russell Book Fair is happening tomorrow and Friday in the Learning Commons. Bring your cash to buy new and used books. Each class is booked in to the fair for twenty minute sessions, and the Book Fair will also be open at recess, lunch, and after school until 3pm.

Stelly’s Climbing Academy: Attention all Grade 8 students. Tomorrow at lunchtime there will be a meeting for anyone who wants to learn about the Stelly’s climbing academy. Former Bayside students who are now a part of the academy will be here to answer questions and talk about the program. The meeting will take place in E106, Mr. Stoehr’s room. Bring your lunch.

Attention Volleyball Fans: Tomorrow at lunchtime in the gym will be the first of our weekly matches to find the best volleyball team in the school. The winning team will then play the teacher all-stars before spring break. Tomorrow’s game will be the Grade 7 Boys team versus the Grade 7 Girls team in what should be an interesting matchup. Next week’s game will see the Grade 8 girls rec team play the Grade 8 girls competitive team. Come cheer on your favourite Shark.

Grade 6 and 7 Girls Volleyball: Yesterday at Lansdowne Middle School both the girls grade 6 and grade 7 teams battled hard against Central, Lansdowne and each other. The Bayside teams played each other to a hard fought tie. Well done girls. Good luck to the Grade 8 girls competitive team in their match today here in the Bayside gym. All fans are welcome.

FIND YOUR FIT TOUR – A CAREER EXPLORATION EVENT

The WorkBC Find Your Fit Tour is an interactive student based event taking place at Bayside Middle School on February 26, 2019 from 8:34am – 2:33pm for students and from 3:00pm - 7:00pm for students and parents. Students can jump right in and try the skills they’ll need for different careers in demand across the province. This hands-on event will help students apply real life experiences to their career planning, and connect with WorkBC’s labour market information, tools and services. Parents are also welcome to attend the evening event, as they look for ways to educate and support their children in their career exploration.
Drop in and explore the program and discover how to ‘find your fit’ for a career!
