SCIENCE
Currently in Science we are learning about Basic Human Nutrition.  Students have been requested to keep a journal of what they have eaten for two days and then enter (tediously) each food item in a spreadsheet. This spreadsheet can be found in each students Google Drive.  This assignment is due on Wednesday, January 18th.
Students are also working on a small poster, depicting one good food that they eat, compared to one bad.  This assignment is also due Wednesday, January 18th.
In the next week, students will be learning about their BMR and BMI and we will be discussing body image, as well as healthy lifestyles.

MATH
Currently in math we are completing a unit on money and making change.  A quiz will be done on Tuesday, January 17th.  After that we are quickly reviewing integers, mass and volume.

HUMANITIES

We have started learning about the Rights of the Child in Humanities.  This includes the reading of a novel called "Iqbal", which depicts child labour in a carpet-making factory in Pakistan.  Some of our subject matter is not pleasant, so make sure that you discuss this topic at home with your child.
