Hey Bayside...Do you want to win cookies, possibly a gift card, AND help young kids learn to read? The Youth in Action team and the Learning Commons are holding 2 contests to celebrate Family Literacy Day and to support the 1000x5 project! You can help by donating gently used children's books which will be donated to the project here on Saanich Peninsula. The class with the most books donated will win a plate full of cookies made by the Youth in Action team. Bring in your books now until Jan. 26th.
Survivor is here! Have you ever watched Survivor on TV and wanted to try it? Here is your chance. All grades welcome to participate. All interested students are asked to meet with Mr. Kovacs at recess today in the gym. Grab your friends and come to the gym at recess.

From the Learning Commons – To celebrate Family Literacy Day on Jan. 27Th, the LC is having a BINGO contest! Just pick up an entry form at the LC – all the info you need is on it. One lucky winner will receive a gift card from Tanner's Books in Sidney. Deadline for getting your entry in is Jan. 26th.
Students looking to sign out books and magazines today, please do so in the morning, during recess and at lunch. Ms. Lindsay will be away this afternoon. Also, as a general reminder, PLEASE no food or drinks in the LC before school, or at recess and lunch.

Band Announcements – Instrumental masterclass sectionals during Reading Block TODAY are for the Combined Gr. 8 Band (all Gr. 8 band students). Students need to bring their instrument, band book/ music and pencil.
