It has been a smooth two weeks and the tone in the building and on the grounds has been calm. A strong start to what we often see as our most productive term of the year as teachers know their students so well, and kids know their teachers' expectations and classroom routines.
A couple of reminders for our greater school community:
Masks - we remind students that they need to have a mask every day at school. They are required to be worn in all common areas in the school as well as on the school bus. We also continue to remind students that afterschool if they are with students from another cohort they need to have their masks on while on school grounds.
Similarly, we ask that students are on their way home promptly at the end of the day rather than mingling across cohorts. We have all worked hard to maintain these cohorts every day over the first 4+ months of the year.
We also remind everyone that our road and parking lot is very busy both before and after school. We ask that students are using crosswalks appropriately and not crossing on Newton to meet parents across the street. We also remind parents that our staff parking lots are not always the best place to pick up your child as it increases our traffic congestion.
We do not have the necessary personnel to enforce these expectations, but call on everyone in our community to do their part as we have done so well to make it this far this year and know that now is not the time to ease up.
