Band 8: Congratulations to the Grade 8 Band on a wonderful advocacy concert tour yesterday! The new upcoming grade 5 students were impressed with our musical skills. Registration for Band 6 starts Tuesday, Apr. 23.

Beach Ball Dance: Hey! Hey! Hey! Bayside! Beach Ball TODAY! Student Council 8 will be hosting the last social afternoon of the year. Wear your beach inspired outfit to the dance on Thursday. Don’t forget the Shark Shop will have special treats for sale. Cost for the dance is $4 with a can a food and $5 without. Tickets are on sale in the Gallery at Recess and Lunch.

Reminder to Students and Parents: Today, April 18 is a regular day in session. Students are expected to stay all day till 2:33. In the afternoon there will be the Beach Ball dance and a wide variety of Spring activities to choose from.

WE are SILENT: At the grade group assemblies yesterday, the Youth in Action Team talked about the WE ARE SILENT campaign happening on Monday, April 29th. This is to help those children all over the world who don’t have rights like we do here and aren’t able to speak up for themselves. The ‘We Are Silent’ event is a way for students here to raise awareness about childrens’ rights by going silent for 5 hours. Try taking on the challenge of going silent and helping to raise money at the same time. You can even challenge your friends. Bring in your $5.00 and give it to your homeroom teacher to participate. All money raised will be given to the WE Charity to help some of the neediest children in our world. Each student who participates will also get their name in for a draw prize. There will be one winner per pod. Thank you!

Girls Rugby: Congratulations to the girl rugby teams who continued there winning streak last night with 4 wins 2 for each team. Shout out to Zoey scoring 2 tries on their debute!

Throwing Athletes - Today at Lunch time is for Discus and Shot put. Come meet at the equipment room at lunch for throwing practise.

Running and High Jump Athletes - Today after school will be for Running events and High Jump. Meet in the gym today after school for Track practise.

Long Jump and Triple Jump Athletes – Practise will be on Tuesdays at lunch. Everyone welcome!

Instrumental masterclass sectionals: During Reading Block TODAY are for the Grade 6 Woodwinds. Students need to bring their instrument, band book/music and a pencil.
