FESTIVALS AND TOURS

Grade 7: Vancouver Island Concert Band Festival (date TBA, during the school day in April, located in Ladysmith or Port Alberni)

Grade 8: Whistler Con Brio Festival May 2-5, 2019.

PRACTICE AND LESSONS

Students will be expected to practice their instrument outside of class time to develop the muscle memory to perform with the ensemble.

No practice cards...just Band Karate.

How to help your child practice at home?

Private Lessons are encouraged. L&M, Brentwood School of Music, UVic Music majors, or even a high school mentor.

Kids "bored with practice"? Have them look up YouTube resources, Disney books, Pop music books, practice with friends (playdate or here at school), and more.
