Info for Students…
Have you heard that Thursday, April 26th is the ‘We are Silent’ event? There are kids all over the world who don’t have rights like we do here and aren’t able to speak up for themselves. This event is a way for students here to raise awareness about children’s rights by going silent for 5 hours. Try taking on the challenge of going silent and helping to raise money at the same time. You can even challenge your friends. Bring in your $5.00 and give it to your homeroom teacher. All money raised will be given to the WE Foundation to help some of the neediest children in our world. Each student who participates will also get their name in a draw for a gift card to Mayfair Mall. There will be one winner per pod. Thank you.
Have you ordered your Bayside Yearbook yet? Deadine to order is April 30th. Check the office window to see if your name is on the list for having pre-ordered. The cost is $35. Don’t miss out, as quantities are limited.
Attention all Gr. 6 students who were in Art last term – Please pick up your clay tile faces from the Art Room this week after school.
Track & Field – All students interested in participating in Track & Field this year, please attend a meeting on Wednesday at lunch in E114.
Volleyball – For all players interested in keeping up their skills in the off season, practices will run Wednesday morning at 7 am again this week. Please see Ms. Tuck if you would like more info.
Girls Basketball – All girls who want to work on their basketball skills are welcome to come to the gym every Tuesday from 2:45 – 4:00 for fun drills and games. All girls in Gr. 6, 7 and 8 are welcome. No experience necessary. The first session is TODAY.
Gr. 8 Student Council – meeting TODAY at 12:30 in Mme Levesque's room.
All Gr. 6 Band students are reminded to come down to the MPR TODAY at 11:15 to eat lunch prior to leaving for our festival. Bring your uniform, instrument and music. After eating, you will have time to change into your uniform.
Any Band students who still have their band tie or leather folder, please return to the band room as the Gr. 8’s need them this week for Whistler.
Band Announcements – There are no Instrumental masterclass sectionals TODAY due to the Gr. 6 Band Festival.
