The Bayside Youth in Action Team will be hosting our annual book drive in January to support the local PCEC "1000x5" Children's Book Recycling Project.
After the holidays, we are asking that Bayside families consider donating any gently used books that you may not be using at home any more. The books need to be appropriate for children ages 0-5 years. These books will be given to the PCEC and this group will put them together in packages to give to local families who may not have books at home or may not be able to afford to buy books for their young children.
Research shows that early reading leads to better literacy, which in turn often leads to greater success in school.
We hope that, in January, you will be able to help us reach our goal of donating 1000 books to this very worthy organization. Thank you for your consideration!
