Many thanks to all band students for a wonderful Winter Concert last night and this morning. As always, you make me feel blessed to work with such passionate, energetic, and keen young musicians each day!
To those students thinking about trying a new instrument in an effort to better balance our ensemble, please see Mrs Aitchison this week so that we can let you try it out before the break. We have a need for more lower instruments to help strengthen the bass sound in our band. If you want to try the tenor saxophone, or baritone horn (think mini-tuba) we can lend you one from the school to test out before committing to a long rental. As well, there are many eager grade 7&8 student mentors willing to give guidance at lunch starting at 12:30 to help make the transition easier. As always, students are welcome to practice in the practice rooms at this time as well.
Thank you parents for leading the fundraising ventures and to families who purchased goodies from our bake sale. The grade 8's will benefit from these funds using them towards their spring Whistler band trip.
