Please remind and encourage your child to complete their band karate playing tests by the end of next week (Nov 24). I am available at lunch during mentorship from 12:30-12:45pm daily, as well students can perform these tests during class, or masterclass. If they are still feeling worried an email video recording will suffice, though I won't be able to give immediate feedback with regards to helping them make improvements as necessary. My email address is: aaitchison@sd63.bc.ca. Students are to complete all three tests: White (#5/#12), Yellow (#20/27), and Orange (#34/40). If a student isn't satisfied with their letter grade they are able to re-test after they've had a chance to practice.
They should be practicing concert pieces for our winter concert (mandatory) Weds Dec 13 at 7pm. Brass: Jolly Old St Nicholas, Woodwinds: Jingle Bells, Percussion (mallets): Blue Christmas. We will also choose a massed band grade 6 piece closer to the concert date.
