Bayside will be welcoming our annual Japanese Kokusai group Mar. 22-26th. We are seeking Bayside families to host this amazing homestay visit. Please submit your application as soon as possible to be considered for this great opportunity. Come see Ms. Taggart at the office if you are interested or email taggart.jules@gmail.com.
Fields and wooded/forest areas are closed today, blacktop areas are open but be careful outside during recess and lunch. Please stay out of the mud to respect our clean building.
PAC Hot Lunch – Coming Feb 2nd. $10 per plate. Chinese food in celebration of Chinese New Year! You can only pre-order so get your order for in now before it's too late! Deadline to order is Jan. 27th. Forms are on the PAC website or in the school office.
Twin Day Jan 31st – Did you know that January is called the twin month? So, in honour of January you and your BFF should dress up like twins and win the parade of twins on Jan. 31St at recess. Come show your school spirit and you can win Mayfair $$!!
Gr. 6/7 Girls Volleyball Rec Team – Practice after school TODAY.
Gr. 6/7 Girls Volleyball Comp Team – Game at Dunsmuir TODAY. Please bring your permission form with you to that game. Ms. Pettigrew will bring the uniforms to Dunsmuir.
All Gr. 6/7 Boys Volleyball Players – Jamboree is Thursday after school at Bayside. There will be a practice starting at 2:45, before our games.
Skills Canada – Anybody interested in Skills Canada competition (gravity car, spaghetti bridge, and sumo bot). Please come to the tec-ed room TODAY at lunch.
Student Council – Meeting on Wed at 12:30.
Bayside's Got Talent – If you are a gymnast, singer, dancer, musician or just have a particular skill or talent that you'd like to showcase, then Bayside's Got Talent could be for you. Pick up your application forms at the office and return the completed forms to Mr. Timmermans in S115.
1000 x 5 Book Drive – So far we are at a total of 416 books donated. At the moment, Div 6-6 is in the lead, followed by 6-3, and 8-2 is in 3rd place so far. Keep those books coming and let's see if we can surpass 500 books.
From the Learning Commons – A reminder to those of you doing the Family Literacy Day Bingo contest – deadline is 2:35 tomorrow for getting your entries in to Ms. Lindsay. Please don't forget to put your NAME on it – we have received one entry so far in the book drop and the parents signature isn't clear – if this is your entry form, please come and put your name on it, otherwise it won't be eligible for the draw for the $15 Tanners gift card.

Band Announcements – Instrumental masterclass sectionals during Reading Block TODAY are for the Gr. 7 Combined Band (all Gr. 7 band students). Students need to bring their instrument, band book/music and a pencil.
