What a great week Grade 6 Band!

You should feel confident setting up your instrument, holding it in proper position, forming an embouchure, blowing and articulating the notes (striking the mallets with a rebound motion for glockenspiel players), can accurately play three pitches, and care for your instrument (swab it out after each use). Please review page 6 and start looking ahead at page 7.

I encourage all students to practice along with the DVD and/or online using the following link:

Another fantastic resource (especially for Brass players- trumpet, french horn, trombone, baritone) is http://www.bandmatetuner.com/

Students should practice 20-30 minutes 3-4X each week outside of class time in order to develop the muscle memory needed to play a musical instrument. Your goal is to be ready to complete the "White" band karate playing test during the next band class.

Next week is PE and masterclass. Please note, we will have some instrument specialists coming in to masterclass to help students learn specific techniques pertaining to their instrument.
