Welcome back from Spring Break! Just so that families are aware, the bands are excitedly preparing for our upcoming Spring Concert on Thursday May 7th at 7pm
for parents and friends, and again on Friday May 8th during block 1 for
the school. Please ensure your child has this date marked on the family
calendar and is certain to alert any tutors/coaches/other groups of
this commitment. This performance will highlight the musical growth of
the bands and all students must attend as we are all an integral part of
the team. Students will need to wear their uniform (black on the bottom and black or white on the top).
If your son/daughter has a button down collared dress shirt, I will
provide a tie (grade 6's wear a black tie with the Bayside logo, grade
7's wear a teal tie with the Bayside logo, and the grade 8's wear a teal
sharks tie) for your child to wear during the evening concert. Please
note these ties are not to be brought home and should be returned to Mrs
Aitchison after the concerts.
Grade 8's have five pieces to practice at home, all of which can be heard on the Soundfiles button on the band website. It is suggested that students practice with the recording regularly to ensure confidence. One piece is entitled "Celtic Air and Dance #2", "Gold Medallion", "Latinesque", "Funkytown", and "Superheroes R Us".
