Please note, masterclass sectionals are mandatory and part of the students overall report card mark. I am noticing a few students regularly missing these sectionals despite being at school and/or forgetting their instrument. Thus, I have felt the need to instill the following policy: Students whom miss 3 Masterclass sectionals this term (we've had 2-3 so far in January) WILL NOT come on our field trip to the festival later this spring. The festival is meant to be a fun day to miss school, perform at the Greater Victoria Festival of Performing Arts, be adjudicated, and listen to other students from around the region (both public and private schools). It isn't fair to those students whom have put forth their best effort to have such a fun day marred by those whom aren't showing positive team spirit and support. The schedule is as follows during USSR: Mondays (Clarinets and Bass Clarinets), Tuesdays (Flutes), Wednesdsays (Trumpets, Trombones, Baritones, and Bass Guitar), Thursdays (Percussion and Glockenspiel), and Fridays (Altos, Tenors, and Bari Saxophones).
