      The 6 starters are 
      1. subject   (Dragons...   /   The dragons ...    /   They  )
      1. preposition   ( On ...   /   Over ...  /  In ...  )
      1. "ly" adverb     ( Usually ...   /   Confidently ...  /   Quietly ... )
      1. "ing"  verb   (  Flying...   /   Living ...  /   Sparkling  ... )  This is usually the hardest one to do correctly as you have to make sure that the "ing" verb is not the subject.  For instance  in the sentence,  "Flying is fun."  the word,  "Flying" is the subject and not a verb.  In this sentence, "Flying" is used as a verb:     Flying low and fast over the ground, dragons are impressive creatures.   
      1. Any dependent clause  (   Because...   /   When ...  / Which / Where / As / If / Since / Although   etc.  )
      1. VSS  (a very short sentence - 5 words or less.  Make sure that this very short sentence is in contrast to the rest of your sentences.  If all the sentences in your paragraph have 6 words, a five word sentence is not in contrast.)

  • Physical Education Grade 7

    It is hoped that all students bring appropriate PE strip.  This includes proper footwear (running shoes), sweat pants or shorts, and a change of shirt.   In addition, students should be ready to dress for the weather.  This may include a jacket or sweatshirt for going outside, hat and gloves for cold weather and a change of socks if it is wet.  On occasion, students may wish to bring their own sports equipment; for example, a hockey stick or soccer cleats.  This is usually acceptable and often encouraged.  Always expect to go outside. Dress warm and dry - sweater, waterproof coat.
